Parker studied with some of the leading 20th century indigenous Californian basketweavers: Lucy Telles ( Yosemite Miwok - Mono Lake Paiute ); Mabel McKay , ( Cache Creek Pomo - Patwin ) and Elsie Allen ( Cloverdale Pomo ).
