Komiljon Otaniyozov (Uzbek Cyrillic: Комилжон Отаниёзов, Russian: Камилджан Атаниязов; 20 July 1917 — 5 November 1975) was an Uzbek instrumentalist, singer, songwriter and music composer. He is the People's artist of Uzbekistan. He has been an influential figure in Uzbek cultural life for almost five decades.
The State Anthem of Uzbekistan [a] was officially adopted on 10 December 1991 by the Constitution of Uzbekistan, after gaining independence from the Soviet Union.The lyrics were written by Uzbek poet Abdulla Oripov, set to the melody composed by Soviet Uzbek composer Mutal Burhonov.
