Wolfchase Galleria is a regional shopping mall in northeast Memphis, Tennessee, United States. The mall is managed by Simon Property Group . It is located across the street from the Bartlett city limits at the intersection of Germantown Parkway and Interstate 40 .

As downtown Memphis decayed in the early 1970s, the hotel suffered financially, and the Sheraton-Peabody closed in December 1973. An Alabama investment group purchased the hotel in 1974 and reopened it briefly under its original name, but they declared bankruptcy on April 1, 1975, and it closed again. [ 3 ]

The museum was opened in 1998 as the Peabody Place Museum and in January 2007 it received its present name. [ 1 ] The museums collection is based on the private collection of Memphis developers Jack and Marilyn Belz, who owned the Peabody Hotel and Peabody Place .
The Muvico theater was scheduled to shut down by the end of March 2008. Belz considered converting the Muvico space into a hotel lobby, a meeting space, and 160-170 hotel rooms. Cordova grew from a quiet country farm hamlet with a population of 150 people in 1912 to one of the fastest growing neighborhoods of Memphis. Retail growth exploded in the late 1990s thanks to the Wolfchase Galleria shopping mall, which at the time was the largest retail center in unincorporated Shelby County outside of the Memphis city limits.
