Clarendon is an unincorporated community in Columbus County, North Carolina, United States. The community is located along a railroad and North Carolina Highway 410 , 4.6 miles (7.4 km) north-northeast of Tabor City .
The county was formed in 1774 from the southeastern part of Halifax County and the western part of Tyrrell County.It was named for Josiah Martin, the last royal governor of North Carolina (1771–75). [3]
