Ophiuchus (/ ˌ ɒ f i ˈ juː k ə s /; Ancient Greek: Ὀφιοῦχος, lit. 'Serpent-bearer'; astrological symbol ⛎︎) has been proposed as a 13th sign of the sidereal and tropical zodiac. Ophiuchus is not the 13th sign of the zodiac. This is because the signs of the zodiac are only named after constellations; they don't correspond to which constellation the sun is actually in. Planetariums frequently note that it would be a sign if the signs did line up with the constellations, but only an insignificant number of astrologers actually take the stars into account.
