The project namespace or Wikipedia namespace is a namespace consisting of administration pages with information or discussion about Wikipedia. Pages in this namespace will always have the prefix Wikipedia:. They can also be reached by alias WP: or the standard (for any MediaWiki site) prefix Project:. Its namespace number is four (4).
For example, WP: is Wikipedia:, and so [[Wikipedia:Page name]] can be abbreviated [[WP:Page name]]. See Aliases below, for a list of aliases, such as WT: for Wikipedia talk: . A pseudo-namespace is an agreement to create redirect pages named that way, each of which is a shortcut from mainspace to a single page in its namespace .
In Wikipedia, then an article's page name has a fullpagename of pagename, but outside the main namespace, the MediaWiki titles don't hide the namespace name, so there the page name (or fullpagename) show as namespace:pagename with a colon between. This makes a few restrictions on pagenames, which we fully cover.
Requested lists – a page that explains how to request a list style article. Requested templates – a page that explains how to request the creation of a template. Requested redirects – a page that explains how to request a page redirect. Requested categories – a page that explains how to request a category.
Wikipedia Requests maintains a database of requests, including page titles, a summary of the request, associated categories and WikiProjects, and notes. For WikiProjects, any page in the project ("Wikipedia:") namespace is accepted. Categories are based on those of the Wikipedia article, if the Wikipedia article already exists.
Moving a file to a different name; only a few users ("administrators" and "file movers") can do this To make a request, use the template {{Rename media}} (see template for instructions). Changing a username to a different name; only a handful of users ("Stewards and Global renamers") can do this To make a request, go to Wikipedia:Changing username.
Basically, to use the search box to navigate directly to a page or section of a page name: Enter the page name (the entire title shown on the top line). Enter the redirect name, shortcut name, or pseudo-pagename. Navigate to a section of a page by appending the "#" character, as in Page name#section heading.
