Located near the town centre, St Bride's is one of the most recognised buildings in East Kilbride. It was built in the decade after the new town of East Kilbride was begun in 1947 following World War II. The congregation formerly met in St. Bride's Guild Hall in The Village district of East Kilbride.

The building and estate had belonged to the Hunter family since the 17th century, when it relocated from nearer to East Kilbride Kirkton Park. [6] [7] The extant buildings date from the late 17th to 19th centuries, with a 20th-century extension from the building's time as a museum.
