Pigeon Lake Provincial Park is a provincial park located in central Alberta, Canada, within the County of Wetaskiwin No. 10. The park is located on the southwestern shore of Pigeon Lake . It was established on August 16, 1973.

It has a catchment area of 187 km 2 (72 sq mi), [1] and is an early tributary of the Battle River, to which it is connected through the Pigeon Lake Creek. Pigeon Lake was previously called "Woodpecker Lake". The name was changed to Pigeon Lake in 1858. In 1896, Pigeon Lake Indian Reserve was established on the southeast shore.

Ma-Me-O Beach, Alberta, is a summer village on the southeast shore of Pigeon Lake, in Alberta, Canada. It is located approximately 100 km (60 mi) southwest of Edmonton. Ma-Me-O derives from the Cree word for "pigeon", omîmîw (ᐅᒦᒦᐤ). [3] It was founded in 1924. [4]

The park is situated on the southern shore of Sturgeon Lake, 19 km west of Valleyview on Highway 43. It lies across Sturgeon Lake from the much larger Young's Point Provincial Park. Recreational activities in the park include swimming (a gravel beach) and boating (a standard boat launch area). Facilities for camping are also provided.
