Kokanee Creek Provincial Park is a provincial park on the west shore of Kootenay Lake in the West Kootenay region of southeastern British Columbia. Highway 3A bisects the park 19 kilometres (12 mi) east of Nelson. Established as a BC Provincial Park in 1955, it encompasses 260 hectares of sandy beaches, deltas, and coniferous forest. [3] [4]
The park is 879.47 km 2 in size, is located between Slocan Lake (S) and Trout Lake (N), bordering Kootenay Lake The regions surrounding the park are known for its mining ghost towns from the days of the "Silvery Slocan" silver and galena rush to its south and also in the Lardeau country around Trout Lake and the north end of the Arrow Lakes.
