Lauro "Larry" Zarate Alcala ONA (August 18, 1926 – June 24, 2002) was a well-known editorial cartoonist and illustrator in the Philippines. [1] [2] [3] In 2018, he was posthumously conferred the National Artist for Visual Arts title and the Grand Collar of the Order of National Artists (Order ng Pambansang Alagad ng Sining).

Francisco Flores Trinidad, Jr. (May 26, 1939 – February 13, 2009), better known by his pen name "Corky", was a Filipino-American editorial cartoonist and comics artist. Born in Manila, he was known for his editorial cartoons for the Honolulu Star-Bulletin since 1969, and especially for his Vietnam War comic strip Nguyen Charlie.
