Westbury Court: the Canal (pictured July 2009) Westbury Court Garden is a Dutch water garden in Westbury-on-Severn, Gloucestershire, England, 9 miles (14 km) southwest of Gloucester. It is a rare survival of seventeenth century garden design and was initially laid out by the owner of Westbury Court, Maynard Colchester I, in 1696–1705.

In the 19th century, J. & G. Meakin was known for the vast quantities of cheap ironstone china it produced for the domestic English market and for export to Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United States. From around 1970, designs included Liberty, Sterling, Trend, Classic and Heirloom. Some of these were influenced from earlier designs.
By the summer of 1958, most of the refugees were allowed to move to Germany and the USA while a few chose to remain in Ireland. Within the porch of the church are several markings of crosses and full crosses made during the English Civil War.
