Mid Yell is a coastal settlement on the island of Yell, the second largest of Shetland Islands, Scotland. Mid Yell, the largest settlement on the island, is at the head of Mid Yell Voe on the B9081 road about 1 mile (1.6 km) from its junction with the A968 road .
The North Isles is the name given to the group including Yell, Unst and Fetlar. West Sandwick contains one of the major recreational beaches in Yell. [1] The area south of Southladie Flo is an important feeding area for locally breeding red-throated divers. The rare curved sedge (Carex maritima) grows beside an exit stream on West Sandwick beach. [1] The bay contains a distinctive shingle spit known as the Urabug.
Otterswick is a hamlet on the island of Yell in the Shetland Islands, on the inlet of Otters Wick. It is on the east side of the island. There is also an "Otterswick" on Sanday in the Orkney Islands. [1]
