Ezekiel 43 is the forty-third chapter of the Book of Ezekiel in the Hebrew Bible or the Old Testament of the Christian Bible. [1] [2] This book contains the prophecies attributed to the prophet/priest Ezekiel, and is one of the Books of the Prophets. [3] [4] Chapters 40-48 give the ideal picture of a new temple.
Matthew is the only gospel which describes how the stone was moved. In Mark 16:3, the women had worried about how they were to move the stone to anoint the body. In Matthew, there was no need to enter the tomb, and in his version this is not mentioned as a concern of the women. [3] Why the stone is moved is not directly answered.
Even the King James Version had doubts about this verse, as it provided (in the original 1611 edition and still in many high-quality editions) a sidenote that said, "This 36th verse is wanting in most of the Greek copies." This verse is missing from Tyndale's version (1534) and the Geneva Bible (1557).
