Blob's Park was a German-style beer hall that opened in 1933 in Jessup, Maryland. It was the "Home of America's First Oktoberfest". [ 1 ] MD 917 , one of the shortest numbered Maryland state routes at less than a mile long, runs from MD 175 to Blobs Park.
In earlier years, horse-drawn carriage rides existed as well. Special shops, restaurants, and other holiday-themed activities were also available. There were live holiday shows at both the American Heritage Music Hall (now the Kings Island Theater) and Festhaus. The event ended after the 1992 season, but made one additional appearance in 2005.
Classic TV Game Show Themes is a compilation CD released by Varèse Sarabande in 1998. The CD contains 20 tracks, each the theme to a current or classic game show. The disc was authorized by Game Show Network, and featured liner notes provided by the channel.

The Grand Knockout Tournament (also known as It's a Royal Knockout) was a one-off charity event which took place on 15 June 1987, and was shown on British television on 19 June 1987 (BBC1, repeated on 27 December 1987), in addition to airing on American TV via the USA Network on 12 August 1987, and European satellite channel Superchannel on 6 March 1988 (repeated on Christmas Day 1988).

Starting in 1967, the community tried a total of three different events as it looked for a more permanent festival. [3] Between the years 1967–1969, the region tested events such as a Heritage Festival, Winterfest and Oktoberfest. The success of each event was monitored and evaluated as they decided what festival would be used going forward. [3]
