Grocka (Serbian Cyrillic: Гроцка, pronounced [ɡrǒtskaː]) or Grocka na Dunavu (Serbian Cyrillic: Гроцка на Дунаву, lit. ' Grocka on Danube ') is a municipality of the city of Belgrade. According to the 2022 census results, the municipality has 82,810 inhabitants.

The Shoes on the Danube Bank (Hungarian: Cipők a Duna-parton) is a memorial erected on 16 April 2005, in Budapest, Hungary.Conceived by film director Can Togay, he created it on the east bank of the Danube River with sculptor Gyula Pauer [] to honour the Jews who were massacred by fascist Hungarian militia belonging to the Arrow Cross Party in Budapest during the Second World War.
The Sip Canal had a total length of 2,133 m (6,998 ft), it was 73 m (240 ft) wide and up to 3.9 m (13 ft) deep. [1] [5] At the lowest water level it was still 3 m (9.8 ft) deep, which allowed the navigation of large river ships. [3] Unlike other canals, which were dug into the rocky riverbed of the Danube, the Sip Canal was cut into the bank.
Vinča is located on the confluence of the Bolečica river into the Danube, on the Danube's right bank, 13 km (8.1 mi) east of Belgrade and 15 km (9.3 mi) west of its own municipal seat of Grocka. It is situated along the stream of Makački potok , which empties into the Bolečica.

It was fought between the Habsburg Monarchy and the Ottoman Empire on 21–22 July 1739 in Grocka , near Belgrade in the Habsburg-held Kingdom of Serbia .
