Luffy discovers the junkyard is named the Gray Terminal. Luffy runs after Ace when he steals the treasure and run into Sabo, a boy who lives there. Luffy discovers the stolen treasure and is tied up. Luffy screams and Porchemy, a member of the Bluejam Pirates, finds them. Luffy, Ace and Sabo escape, but Luffy is captured by Porchemy.
He told his crew through a speaker to find the One Piece, which he stopped doing long ago. Meanwhile, Sabo returns to Momoiro Island with Lulusia refugees. The SMILE Factory is destroyed by the dwarves, and Sabo prepares to meet Luffy at the palace. Bellamy continues his assault against Luffy, still trying to convince Luffy to fight back reminiscing about how he came to respect him after their first meeting, before deciding to end their fight, while silently thanking Luffy for calling him a friend.
Despite Luffy's concern for Sabo, Pedro states it is more likely they are still alive and safe somewhere. However, this distraction and the fact Luffy left the stove on causes a gas explosion in the kitchen causing the meal Luffy planned to turn out awful, and that he also wasted a week's worth of food, leaving the team with no food.
Vergo states that Luffy and the others must have broken out of the cage and helped the G-5 soldiers' escape. Before Luffy went to fight Caesar again, Zoro calls out to Luffy reminding him that this is just the beginning of the New World and he mustn't let his guard down again, and Luffy happily complies as he plows through the Satyr soldiers.
The crew is soon overwhelmed, and Luffy gives Jinbe permission to return and help his former crewmates, telling him to meet them at the Land ofWano. Jinbe goes to the Sun Pirates, and they create a current enabling the Straw Hats to escape from the Big Mom Pirates' fleet and leave Totto Land, as does Morgans and Stussy by hot air balloon.
Luffy's crew soon arrives in Dressrosa and, entering the tournament under the alias "Lucy", he gets to the final round. Recognizing Luffy, Sabo reminisces about their shared childhood: Sabo and Ace refuse to befriend Luffy, but change their mind after he is kidnapped by a pirate and beaten for refusing to give away the location of their treasure.
As the world comes to grips with all that happened during the war, Hancock takes Luffy back to the island of women to recover.
