The primary grid pattern is of quarter sections (1 ⁄ 2 mi × 1 ⁄ 2 mi (800 m × 800 m)). In U.S. land surveying under the Public Land Survey System (PLSS), a section is an area nominally one square mile (2.6 square kilometers), containing 640 acres (260 hectares), with 36 sections making up one survey township on a rectangular grid. In a common square grid layout known as a 1,000-Acre Sectional System, adjacent parallel roads were 100 chains or 1 + 1 ⁄ 4 miles (2.0 km) apart, and arranged as ten 100-acre lots each 20 chains by 50 chains [7] so that two consecutive concession roads and two consecutive side roads enclosed a square of 1,000 acres (4.0 km 2).
Six Flags acquired the park in 1977. The park is located right off of Interstate 195 and is along Monmouth Road (County Route 537). In 2012, Six Flags combined its 160-acre (65 ha) [2] Great Adventure with its 350-acre (140 ha) Wild Safari animal park to form Six Flags Great Adventure & Safari.
One acre equals 1 ⁄ 640 (0.0015625) square mile, 4,840 square yards, 43,560 square feet, [2] or about 4,047 square metres (0.4047 hectares) (see below). While all modern variants of the acre contain 4,840 square yards, there are alternative definitions of a yard, so the exact size of an acre depends upon the particular yard on which it is based.
Square miles should not be confused with miles square, a square region with each side having a length of the value given. For example, a region which is 20 miles square (20 miles × 20 miles) has an area of 400 sq mi; a rectangle of measuring 10 miles × 40 miles also has an area of 400 sq mi, but is not 20 miles square.
NOLA Motorsports Park was designed by Alan Wilson, whose other designs include Utah Motorsports Campus and Barber Motorsports Park. [1] In addition to the two international standard race tracks, the facility also features three karting tracks, full service seven acre kart center, paddock, on-site speed shop, clubhouse, eight acre autocross pad.
