CAPITAL ASSETS. The City’s capital assets totaled $17.45 million as of June 30, 2020. This investment includes land, buildings, equipment, park facilities, roads, bridges, and water and sewer systems. For Governmental Activities, the net investment in capital assets totaled $7.94 million.
Paris was formally chartered by the Kentucky State Legislature in 1862 and Maj. George W. Williams, 1812 war hero, was elected as the town’s first Mayor on April 5, 1862.
Every employer is required to deduct and withhold a payroll tax of 1.5% of all wages paid to employees for work performed in the city. Tax must be paid to the city on a quarterly basis, an annual reconciliation of tax withheld must be filed with the city at the end of each calendar year.
