Manufacturers opened in the town in the early 1900s, including the West Virginia Pottery Company, Bridgeport Lamp Chimney Company, and later the Master Glass Company. It is immediately south of the larger city and county seat of Fairmont, West Virginia. The city is also adjacent to the Tygart Valley River . According to the United States Census Bureau , the city has a total area of 3.41 square miles (8.83 km 2 ), of which 3.23 square miles (8.37 km 2 ) is land and 0.18 square miles (0.47 km 2 ) is water.
Bim is an unincorporated community and coal town in Boone County, West Virginia, United States. Bim is located on West Virginia Route 85, 12 miles (19 km) southeast of Madison. The Bim Post Office opened in 1923. [2] The community was named after Bim Gump, a cartoon character. [3]
