Lisa Ann French (June 2, 1964 – October 31, 1973) was a 9-year-old girl from Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, who was sexually assaulted and murdered by her neighbor, Gerald Miles Turner Jr. ( born June 9, 1949) (later nicknamed "The Halloween Killer" [1]), on Halloween night 1973, while she was trick-or-treating alone.
Michels was born August 4, 1932, in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, the third of five children, to Oscar Joseph Michels, a worker of the Brownsville Canning Factory and later of Michels Pipeline, and Ruth C. Michels (née DeVoy). [4]
Trevor Casper (May 21, 1993 – March 24, 2015) was a state trooper for the Wisconsin State Patrol. On his first solo assignment, [2] Casper was shot and killed [1] in Fond du Lac attempting to apprehend a bank robbery and murder suspect on March 24, 2015. [3] He was the youngest police officer killed in the line of duty in Wisconsin. [4]

In May 1962, Megellas married the love of his life, former Miss Ripon 1960, Carole Margaret Laehn of Fond du Lac, an accomplished pianist who was a contestant in the 1960 Miss Wisconsin pageant in Kenosha, Wisconsin. They had two children, James and Stephen, and subsequently four grandchildren.
Russell Edward Jacobus (September 27, 1944 - October 24, 2023) was the seventh Bishop of the Diocese of Fond du Lac in The Episcopal Church. Jacobus was consecrated as bishop on 24 May 1994. Prior to becoming bishop, he served as Rector of St. Matthias Episcopal Church in Waukesha, Wisconsin . [ 1 ]

During his tenure as bishop, Grafton spearheaded a great expansion the Episcopal Diocese of Fond du Lac, much of it driven by contributing much of his own personal wealth and soliciting contributions from many of his wealthy friends back east. He also left behind a legacy of printed works, sermons and essays.
