Columbus is a home rule-class city in Hickman County, Kentucky, in the United States. The population was 140 at the 2020 census, a decline from 229 in 2000. The city lies at the western end of the state, less than a mile from the Mississippi River. Columbus-Belmont State Park borders the city to the west.
The area was settled c. 1802 by Daniel Trabue. The post office was opened on April 1, 1806, by John Field, who also ran the local store. Camp Boyle, located north of the town square, was an important camp and muster site for the Union Army during the Civil War (1861–1865).

Kentucky Route 86 runs through the town, ending just south of the town at an intersection with U.S. Route 62 .
