In July 2003, Abrams began on-air work for The Weather Channel as a reporter and fill-in, roles she filled until 2005, when she joined her first show, Weekend View, as a co-host. In 2006, she became an on-camera meteorologist as co-host of Abrams and Bettes: Beyond the Forecast and then went on to Weather Center, also with co-host Mike Bettes.
Bettes hosted Abrams & Bettes Beyond the Forecast from 2006 to 2009, and Your Weather Today from 2009 to 2012. When it was relaunched as Morning Rush, he hosted it into 2014. The program was relaunched again in March of that year as America's Morning Headquarters. Bettes also formerly hosted Wake Up With Al, from 2009–2014.
On July 30, 2012, Abrams returned to the Atlanta studio, and she and Mike Bettes resumed hosting the show for all three hours. However, two weeks later on August 13, Stephanie Abrams moved to the New York City studio full-time. She and Mike Bettes continued to host the show from 7 to 9 a.m. while Maria LaRosa joined Bettes for the 9 a.m. hour.
