The Super League Greece 2 (Greek: Ελληνική Σούπερ Λίγκα 2, known as the Betsson Super League 2 for sponsorship reasons) is the second division of professional football in Greece,serving as a feeder league to the top level Super League. Made up of 20 teams in two groups, it is usually played from September to May.
In 1962-2019, the Football League was the second level of the league system, until 2010 as Beta Ethniki. After the formation of Superliga 2, in 2019/20 and 2020/21, the Football League was the third tier and Gamma Ethniki was the fourth tier. In 2010-2013 Gamma Ethniki as Football League 2.
The 2020–21 Super League 2 was the second season of the Super League 2, the second-tier Greek professional league for association football clubs, since restructuring of the Greek football league system. Season's start has been delayed due to the COVID-19 second lockdown in Greece that began in November 2020 and started on 16 January 2021.
The Gamma Ethniki began in 1965 as an amateur championship, while in 1983 it was changed to professional. Although not literally national (it is divided into North and South groups), Football League 2 is considered as a national division. On 3 August 2010, it was announced that the division had been renamed Football League 2. [1]
