Anne Springs Close Greenway The Anne Springs Close Greenway is an extensive protected natural area in Fort Mill, South Carolina consisting of approximately 2,100 acres (9.3 km 2 ) of lakes, forests, and pastures that include trails for hiking, biking, kayaking, and horseback riding.
Interstate 77 passes through the western portions of the town, and exit 85 is signed "South Carolina Highway 160/Fort Mill." SC 160 is the main east–west street in Fort Mill. The town of Fort Mill held a final public hearing in October 2008 on a proposed annexation that doubled the town's physical size. [15] Fort Mill has three golf courses.
In 1887, Samuel Elliott White and others started Fort Mill Manufacturing Co. in Fort Mill, South Carolina. The plant opened in 1888. At one time, the plant employed 2000 and was the largest producer of fabric for bed sheets in the world, but in 1983 when it closed, only 200 still worked there. [2] The White Plant in Fort Mill opened in 1892. [3]
When Springs moved into his office at the new company headquarters in Fort Mill, he found himself with a four-foot-high (1.2 m) and 120-foot-long (37 m) blank space on his walls. He proposed a mural of his railroad, the Lancaster and Chester, but several aerial photographers insisted this would be impossible.

Leroy Springs House, also known as Lancaster City Hall, is a historic home located at Lancaster, Lancaster County, South Carolina. The original section was built in 1820–30. The house was greatly enlarged in the mid-1850s and it took its present appearance in a 1906-07 remodeling. It is a two-story, frame residence.
