Queensland Raceway is 3.126 km (1.942 mi) long and 12 m (13 yd) wide, running clockwise. There are six corners. The circuit was designed by Tony Slattery with input from car and motorcycle racing authorities including CAMS circuit expert Professor Rod Troutbeck. Queensland Raceway is a FIA Grade 3 circuit. [1]

The new 2.967 km (1.844 mi) layout was first used on the weekend of 14–15 August 2010 for a round of the Shannons Nationals Motor Racing Championships. This meeting featured a round of Australia's oldest motor racing championship, the Australian Drivers' Championship, which was visiting Morgan Park for the first time.
On 18 December 2007, Pine Rivers Shire Council and Queensland Raceway (Wrexmere Pty Ltd) signed off on a 30-year-long-term lease (with an option for 10 years) to operate the facility, including both driver training and racing. Racing was limited by noise (95db) and time constraints as a means of ensuring neighbourhood management.

The Brisbane Racing Club was founded on 1 July 2009 by a merger of the Queensland Turf Club and the Brisbane Turf Club (BTC). [2] The club conducted 98 race meetings in 2012. [2] The consolidation of the race clubs was the first of its kind in Australia [3] as later other metropolitan race clubs would follow their initiative. [4]
The Queensland Turf Club (QTC) was founded in August 1863. It began on a piece of land in Ascot, Queensland , later called Eagle Farm Racecourse , given to the club by government grant. The first meeting of the club was held on 14 August 1865.
