Mercy Gilbert opened in 2006 to provide health care in the rapidly growing Gilbert area. It was the first full-service and second hospital to open in Gilbert, which previously had no hospitals of its own. A tower under construction at Mercy Gilbert will house a branch of Phoenix Children's Hospital, in which Dignity Health holds a minority stake.
The Salt River Project (SRP) encompasses two separate entities: the Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and Power District, an agency of the state of Arizona that serves as an electrical utility for the Phoenix metropolitan area, and the Salt River Valley Water Users' Association, a utility cooperative that serves as the primary water provider for much of central Arizona.

In February 2022, Phoenix Children's became a founding partner and official healthcare provider at Bell Bank Park, a $280 million multi-purpose sports and entertainment complex in southeast Mesa, Arizona. Phoenix Children's is opening a 3,915-square-foot facility to offer sports medicine and urgent care at the park.
