The college was a member of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA), primarily competing as an Independent. Concordia–Selma competed in seven intercollegiate varsity sports: Men's sports included baseball, basketball, and soccer; while women's sports included basketball, softball, track & field, and volleyball.

Larry D. Striplin, Jr. (November 11, 1929 – January 23, 2012) [1] [2] was an American college basketball and baseball coach. He was also an influential figure in the state of Alabama's sports, having served on numerous boards for halls of fame.
He served as the head football coach at Concordia College—now known as Concordia University Nebraska—in Seward, Nebraska from 1970 to 1976, record of 31–32–3. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] He lettered in football, basketball , baseball , and track at Concordia before graduating in 1952.
