The karate competition at the 2022 World Games took place in July 2022, [1] in Birmingham in United States, at the Birmingham Southern College.Originally scheduled to take place in July 2021, the Games were rescheduled for 8 and 9 July 2022 as a result of the 2020 Summer Olympics postponement due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 2018 Asian Games (Indonesian: Pesta Olahraga Asia 2018 or Asian Games 2018), officially known as the 18th Asian Games (Indonesian: Pesta Olahraga Asia ke-18), and also known as Jakarta-Palembang 2018 or Indonesia 2018, were a continental multi-sport event that was held from 18 August to 2 September 2018 in Jakarta and Palembang.
Brunei competed at the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China, which was held from 23 September 2023 to 8 October 2023. [3] The delegation had 21 members, 11 of which were athletes and the rest were officials. [4] In this edition Brunei won their first ever Asian Games silver medal courtesy of wushu practitioner Basma Lachkar. [5] [6] [7]
Competitors were divided into two pools of 5 or 6, and each took turns to perform two sets of kata in the elimination round. The top-three competitors by average score in each pool advanced to the ranking round, where they performed a third set of kata. The winner of pool A faced the winner of pool B in the gold medal bout.
