The Medical City first opened as the ABM Sison Hospital in 1967 along San Miguel Avenue, Mandaluyong, with a change of hospital management occurring in 1969. [3] The health facility was renamed as "The Medical City" or TMC in 1975. [3] In 1996, the first outpatient clinic was opened in Antipolo, Rizal.

It is aimed to be a mixed-use area in the heart of the city. [2] The Avida Towers Cloverleaf is sold out and its construction for tower 2 is currently underway. [3] The mall is now targeted for expansion for the Phase 2 of its mall development, with construction scheduled to start in January 2020, and was targeted to be finished by 2022. [4]
