The name of JKUAT officially changed to Jomo Kenyatta University College of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). It was finally established as a university through the JKUAT Act, 1994 and inaugurated on 7 December 1994. [2] In June 2019, the university graduated 118 PhDs, of whom 89 were from the College of Human Resource Development.

Holy Rosary College is located roughly 1.5 kilometers west of downtown. It is an all-girls college (roughly 70–90 students) and classes run year-round. There are several programs offered including: Information Technology (IT), business administration and secretarial. It is accredited to the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology.

Gatundu is a small town in Kiambu County of Kenya.It is known for the first Kenyan president Jomo Kenyatta who lived about three kilometres away from the town, as well as his son, Uhuru Kenyatta, the 4th President of Kenya and former Member of Parliament representing Gatundu South Constituency.
Aisha Jumwa was born in Takaungu village, Kilifi County on 28 March 1975 to Karisa Katana and Sidi Kazungu.Her father had six wives and 28 children. She attended Takaungu Primary School, then proceeded to Ganze Secondary School where she dropped out in Form Two due to lack of school fees.
