Goshen (/ ˈ ɡ oʊ ʃ ən / GOH-shən [2]) is a census-designated place in central Goshen Township, Clermont County, Ohio, United States. [1] The population was 715 at the 2020 census . [ 3 ] It is centered on State Route 28 (especially where it overlaps with State Routes 132 and 48 ), approximately midway between Milford and Blanchester .
It is one of seven Goshen Townships statewide. [4] On July 6, 2022 Goshen Township and some surrounding areas were devastated by a EF-2 tornado. This tornado went through the heart of Goshen Township, striking the main fire station, the police department, & the township office building.

Named after Goshen, Connecticut, [4] is one of seven Goshen Townships statewide. [5] Goshen Township was established in 1810. [6] For many years, the township was part of Columbiana County, before becoming part of Mahoning County in 1846. [7]
Goshen Township was settled about 1801 by settlers from Virginia, Pennsylvania and Ireland. [4] These settlers probably named their new township after a Goshen Township in Chester County, Pennsylvania. [5] Goshen Township was described in 1833 as having several gristmills and saw mills, three or four fulling mills and carding machines. [4]
State Route 28 (SR 28) is an east–west state highway in the U.S. state of Ohio. Both of the route's termini are on U.S. Route 50 (US 50). Its western end is in Milford and its eastern end is near Chillicothe. The route has an interchange with Interstate 275 (I-275), and also intersects US 68 and US 62.
It is one of seven Goshen Townships statewide. [5] Originally part of Allen County, the township was formed in 1836. [6] The township was also involved in one of the last county border changes in Ohio. This change occurred in 1888 when part of Stokes Township in Logan County was exchanged to Clay Township for part of Goshen Township.
