A Bachelor of Mathematics (abbreviated B.Math, BMath or BMaths) is an undergraduate academic degree awarded for successfully completing a program of study in mathematics or related disciplines, such as applied mathematics, actuarial science, computational science, data analytics, financial mathematics, mathematical physics, pure mathematics, operations research or statistics.
Professional in nature, these programs focus on established and emerging areas of industry with an emphasis on practical, hands-on learning. Programs are offered both part-time and full-time, with courses available evenings on the Charles River Campus. Additionally, close to 70 degrees and certificates are available fully online.
The former requires more coursework in mathematics. Specialized degrees exist for the Software Engineering program (the BSE, or Bachelor of Software Engineering) and Computing and Financial Management (BCFM, or Bachelor of Computing and Financial Management). Postgraduate students are generally awarded an MMath (Master of Mathematics) or PhD.

The BAS degree is designed to develop both theoretical and pragmatic knowledge (Bachelors Portal, n.d.). [5] Compared to the Bachelor of Arts (BA) and Bachelor of Science (BS), a BAS degree combines “theoretical and hands-on knowledge and skills that build on a variety of educational backgrounds” (Edmunds College, n.d.). [6]
In comparison, a Bachelor of Science (BS) has a greater focus on science, math, and engineering. The Bachelor of Arts degree is a type of baccalaureate degree. [7] [8] A Bachelor of Arts degree is usually completed in four years: that is, it requires four years of full-time coursework during term time. However, just as with other degrees, some ...
