100% Unbiased news is something I've yet to find, and I don't expect to find it. I feel it's just unavoidable for news to lack any sort of bias; whoever is reporting, writing the scripts, or even owns the outlets has, like all people, an opinion and it is very difficult to keep these opinions from making their way into the reporting.
I grew up in the 60s and trusted newscasters such as Walter Cronkite for unbiased news. I later expanded to all of the major US networks, such as CBS, NBC, PBS, and ABC. When I traveled, I watched CNN and the BBC for accurate news reporting. When I discuss the news with someone who is a Trump conservative, they say that all the major networks, including CNN and MSNBC, are all heavily biased to ...
Never trust a news source that labels itself unbiased; Fox News was famously “fair and balanced” and that fooled an unfortunately large number of people into swallowing propaganda. Feel free to read biased sources describing the same event (Jpost, Al Jazeera, Middle East Eye, Times of Israel) and try to understand how do these facts fit ...
There are indeed some news media companies that have a strong political bent. Fox News is a good example. As others have said, there is no unbiased or even close to unbiased news outlets. The best approach is to triangulate your data. Which means reading from multiple, different, biased sources. Work to understand the biases of each media outlet where you get your news, and look to see how that bias may be affecting the article. Get news from multiple sources with opposing biases, and form your own opinion. Since we know nothing will every be truly unbiased, the only way to get the full story is to hear it from opposing points of view.
Despite the name, this subreddit is not dedicated to presenting news that is neutral. Submissions from any perspective are acceptable, so long as they meet our source requirements. The idea behind /r/NeutralNews is to set up a neutral space where no opinion is favored and discussion is based on facts.
There is no single source that gives unbiased news reports or that uses identical sources. I have found if you want a balanced view you need to read the stories from multiple sources both left and right. (curiously even our media is either right or left what ever happened to the middle?)
It appears that Ground News is about as unbiased as you can be, but I am interested in any Dopers who have experience with the site, want to take a look, or have looked deeper than I have. FYI: GN is a subscription service, with the most extensive option about $100/year, but the cheapest option is about $10/year. All are billed in one-year ...
