Forest Lookout Tower is an original structure built in 1934 by the Civilian Conservation Corps, and moved on location. It is 100 feet high, and visitors over the age of six are allowed to climb it. The William L. Hutcheson Memorial Forest is a 500-acre (200 ha) natural preserve at 2150 Amwell Rd. about 3/4 of a mile east of East Millstone in Franklin Township, Somerset County, New Jersey. It is known for its untouched stand of old growth forest. The Forest was declared a National Natural Landmark in December 1976. [1]

The Minnesota Historical Society operates 31 historic sites and museums, 26 of which are open to the public. MNHS manages 16 sites directly and 7 in partnerships where the society maintains the resources and provides funding. 6 sites are being held for preservation but are closed to public access, and five are self-guided sites with interpretive signage.

Native American village sites dating back to 1300 CE have been found within the refuge, although the area is assumed to have been inhabited for much longer. The mixture of habitats and abundance of water bodies produced a large and diverse wildlife population.
