If you're using Sodium with Create on Minecraft 1.20.1, make sure you're using Sodium 0.4.10, Indium 1.0.21, and Fabric API 0.88.1. You need to get Sodium from Modrinth. If you want Iris, use Iris 1.6.4. Get it from Modrinth. Iris's update checker may be annoying.

After you downloaded Sodium Mod and Fabric Loader, you will need to do next: Make sure you have the latest version of Fabric Loader installed. Afterwards, all you need to do is simply drop the mod into your mods folder. No other mods or additional setup (not even the Fabric API) is required.

You need (Sodium-fabric-mc1.20.1-0.5.0.jar), 0.5.0 will allow you to have sodium, but you still can't get iris to work this way, I'm not good at trouble shooting this stuff, I'm just on the same page as everybody else trying to find a way to use shaders with this cool portal mod.

Nah, forge is still the main mod loader, probably fabric will never become the main one Edit: I probably shouldn't have written this under a fabric mod's post, but whatever. Also, I don't think that a mod loader that loads and runs the game a bit faster is worth splitting the whole modding community in half.

  6. Do I need fabric loader for iris and sodium? : r/Minecraft -...

    www.reddit.com/.../comments/vx6zjk/do_i_need_fabric_loader_for_iris_and_sodium

Fabric loads your mods, akin to Forge. Sodium is an alternative to Optifine in the same sense. Iris will help manage your shaders. You'll also want to grab the Fabric API mod if you plan on using more Fabric-based mods. You CAN run Optifine in Fabric, as an alternative. You'll need the Optifabric mod. Place both that and Optifine in your mod ...

  7. Can I use Optifine with Sodium? : r/Optifine - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/Optifine/comments/tqx8yk/can_i_use_optifine_with_sodium

Sodium extra is something I’ve found that gives me all the optifine features without the shaders component and it runs very lightweight. Running lambdynamic lighting gets you dynamic lighting back. I also run starlight and ferrite core which take my potato computer and let it run a decent level of Minecraft!

  8. Is there any way to use Anti Aliasing with Sodium? : r/fabricmc -...

starline has a lot of pull requests already merged (when someone wants to contribute code to a project, they create a pull request). that means that a lot of code that has been introduced by members of the community is already in the project. this is not the case for iris, where some pull requests are not yet merged. thus, you can get the best experience on starline through features such as ...

  9. Emissive textures with sodium (fabric) : r/Minecraft - Reddit

    www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/vlrwc2/emissive_textures_with_sodium_fabric

Emissive textures with sodium (fabric) I am currently trying to get an emissive (glowing) ores texture pack so I can have a better experience while mining in 1.18.2+. However, I cannot find this kind of texture pack that allows me to do this while using sodium.

  10. Please explain to me (like I'm 5) what is Iris, Sodium, Fabric,...

    www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/ompyoc/please_explain_to_me_like_im_5_what...

The main download of Iris comes packaged with Sodium, so just use that, and you get both. And Optifine is hacky. While it works, Sodium aims to do a better implementation of performance improvements, while also being open-source so people can contribute to it and help improve it. Optifine is closed-source.
