Even if there are panent issues, the Intel driver has official support for OpenGL 3. Mesa 9.0 is just released with OpenGL 3.1 support. E.g. Arch Linux's mesa package is built with floating point textures support. Intel supports the driver officially, so if there are bugs, they will be fixed some time.
