"The Metamorph" is the first episode of the second series of Space: 1999 (and the twenty-fifth overall episode of the programme). The screenplay was written by Johnny Byrne; the director was Charles Crichton. Previous titles were "The Biological Soul" and "The Biological Computer".
The episode was adapted in the first Year One Space: 1999 novel Breakaway by E. C. Tubb, published in 1975.
