Generally, new parts that you buy from Toyota will have a one-year warranty. Suppose your engine failed and you decided to install a new one. The MSRP would be $9K and it also would have a one-year warranty. Obviously that would be a poor financial choice, much better to buy a used engine from a salvage yard for $400.
My original understanding is 10-yr/150k-mile for Prius, and 8-yr/100k-mile for Prius C. But later I remember reading a post on Prius Chat someone got his Prius-C traction battery replaced under the 10-yr/150k-mile warranty in California. #2 PriusII&C, Dec 27, 2022.
For the hybrid vehicle battery, it’s a moot point. Under the California Emission Control Warranty, coverage for the hybrid vehicle battery is limited to “10 years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first,” which would have ended ten years after the car’s date of first use, presumably some time in 2014, 2015, or 2016.

So the warranty battery would have three years or 36,000 ...

The hybrid battery warranty increase applies to more than just the Prius. All Toyota hybrid batteries are included: Prius hybrid battery, Camry hybrid battery, Avalon hybrid battery, etc. The first hint I had about the increase in the Prius hybrid battery warranty was because a user here on Priuschat mentioned it in a post.

Three Touring. kayceee said: ↑. Went to Toyota in Marina Del Rey (Los Angeles) to inquire about a TrueStart 12V battery for my 2012 Prius III and was told by parts/service that while most TrueStart batteries have a 84 month warranty (2 year free replacement then prorated), the Prius TrueStart battery has a different warranty of 1 year free ...
