ADMIN MOD. Anyone else frustrated with Dr. Dray aka YouTube’s dermatologist? For those who are unfamiliar, Dr. Dray is a dermatologist based in Houston. My understanding is that she’s switched to YouTube full time, rather than practicing, because her channel is so popular. Young women who watch it constantly make snide comments on there ...
Petrolatum is the gold standard occlusive ingredient. Very different from moisturizing ingredient. Petrolatum does not moisturize itself, but it is the gold standard for locking in moisture according to Dr. Dray. Dr. Dray's issue with Vitamin C is that it is highly unstable. Well-made formulations, such as Skinceuticals's CE Ferulic are ...
hoaglandmr. *trigger warning for ed* Dr. Dray addressing weight? m e t a. I just stumbled upon dr drays videos and I love falling asleep to the sound of her talking about something lol. However, as I’ve been watching her videos in a random order there are time where she is literally just skin and bones. I saw some posts saying she’s been ...
leave dr dray alone lol… she uploads free skincare advice on YouTube, her channel is a wealth of information. she’s a but cooky but I respect that she prioritises educating people with hard facts than other skincare channels that are more entertainment and usually less factually correct…
I have watched Dr Dray daily for the past few months and followed every of her skincare and especially retinol instruction. It does seem to me that she has to spend a decent amount of time creating contents, filming and editing videos and/or responding to messages on her social channels.
Anyone else familiar with Dr. Dray on YouTube? Seems she hits a cross-section of red scare community interests—she’s a dermatologist who shares clear, sensible advice about skincare, but is also VERY visibly anorexic and deranged about removing any & all posts that call her ED into question. Needless to say she’s a freak & I love her.
AcanthisittaNo5807. •. I’ve watched dieticians and unnatural vegan review her “what I eat in a day” videos. I’ve never had an eating disorder, so I was surprised by the many ways Dray would eat that seemed healthy but was not. She ate a massive bowl of food, yet it was mostly vegetables and very low in calories.
Doctors and psychologists would be telling them that every little rationality they could muster in their brain was the ED talking. “It’s the disorder, you’re not yourself, you can’t think clearly.”. But because she is a doctor, we all come to her defense and say “she knows better!”.
Dr.Dray is willing to use other products that are not prescriptions because there is a shit ton of research that moisturizers, and products like differin work. The research doesn't support vit c serums or antioxidant serums. She's also highly suspicious of drugstore skincare products, and will test them out, then give her opinion in videos.
I strongly disagree about Dr. Dray and Dr. Idriss. They look NOTABLY older than anyone I know still in their twenties. They look great, but no one thinks they could be in their twenties. Honestly, the obsession some people clearly in their thirties and forties have with “passing in their twenties” is weird and unhealthy.
