The model year of an iMac is available at Apple menu > About This Mac. A late 2012 through late 2013 iMac can be upgraded to Catalina 10.15.7 but no later.
The only other way to update Safari is by upgrading the macOS to a newer generational version as High Sierra to Catalina, for example. On one, in System Settings > Software Update the update of Safari 18.0 to 18.0.1 appeared in below the option to Upgrade to macOS Sequoia 15.0; on the other, the option to upgrade Safari 18.0, which it is currently running, to 18.0.1 does not appear. Clicking "More info..." only displays information about Sequoia.
