The original Henry's Tavern was a bar and restaurant in the Weinhard Brewery Complex at 12th Avenue and Burnside Street, in northwest Portland's Pearl District. Named after Henry Weinhard, the restaurant had more than 100 beers on tap. [2] Plans for locations in Bellevue and Seattle's South Lake Union neighborhood were announced in 2017. [3]

The restaurant was opened in 1922 by Swiss immigrant Henry Burger. [1] The business expanded to include a hotel, but the business was forced to close following the 1929 stock market crash. [1] The restaurant reopened on Laval Street and in 1936 Burger died and his wife Marie-Anne Monnin took over the business. [2]
