The park was formerly known as Fay Bainbridge State Park. It was among several state parks turned over to local authorities by the Washington State Park System beginning in 2009. [ 5 ] The park was officially transferred to the Bainbridge Island Metropolitan Park and Recreation District in May 2011.

A view of Fort Ward Park. Fort Ward Park is park located along Rich Passage on the southern end of Bainbridge Island in Washington. Fort Ward Park is part of the Bainbridge Island Metro Park and Recreation District, on land which the former military base, Fort Ward, was located. [1] It was a state park from 1960 to 2011 but is now locally managed.

Battle Point is a community of Bainbridge Island, Washington, located on the western side of the island. The northern part of the neighborhood extends to Arrow Point. Battle Point also contains the communities of Tolo and Venice. The large Battle Point Park is in this neighborhood.

Lake Houston Wilderness Park is a wooded parkland that encompasses 4,786.6 acres. [1] It is the only park owned by the Houston Parks and Recreation Department that has overnight camping and lodging. There are over 20 miles of hiking, biking, and equestrian trails available inside the park.
