Sir Stephen John Fry (born 24 August 1957) is an English actor, broadcaster, comedian, director, narrator and writer. He first came to prominence as one half of the comic double act Fry and Laurie, alongside Hugh Laurie, with the two starring in A Bit of Fry & Laurie (1989–1995) and Jeeves and Wooster (1990–1993).
Fry played the lead in the film Wilde, played Melchett in the Blackadder television series, and was the host of celebrity comedy trivia show QI. He has contributed columns and articles for newspapers and magazines, and has written four novels and three autobiographies, Moab Is My Washpot , The Fry Chronicles , and More Fool Me: A Memoir .
Mythos is a book written by British author Stephen Fry, published in 2017.It is a retelling of a number of ancient Greek myths selected by Fry. It was followed by Fry's 2018 book Heroes, a retelling of myths about Greek heroes, [1] as well as a play titled Mythos: A Trilogy, [2] which premiered at the Shaw Festival in Ontario, Canada, in 2018 [3] and was set to tour the UK starting in August 2019.
Alan Roger Davies (/ ˈ d eɪ v ɪ s /; [1] DAY-vis; born 6 March 1966) [2] is an English stand-up comedian, writer, actor and TV presenter. He is best known for his portrayal of the title role in the BBC mystery drama series Jonathan Creek (1997–2016) and as the only permanent panellist on the BBC panel show QI since its premiere in 2003, outlasting its original host Stephen Fry.
On 14 May 2012, Fry announced he and Laurie were working together on a new project, [1] which came to be an animated adaption of Oscar Wilde’s 1887 story "The Canterville Ghost". The film was released on October 20, 2023, and features Freddie Highmore as The Duke of Cheshire alongside Fry as Sir Simon de Canterville and Laurie as the Grim Reaper.
