U.S. Post Office in Lake Perch Lake from the boating access site. Lake is located in Garfield Township in southweastern Clare County about 5.0 miles (8.0 km) west of the village of Farwell along U.S. Route 10. The community is situated between two lakes: the larger Crooked Lake on the west and the smaller Perch Lake on the east.

The Perch River is a 25.4-mile-long (40.9 km) [1] tributary of the Sturgeon River in Iron County and Baraga County on the Upper Peninsula of Michigan in the United States.The Perch River begins at the outlet of Perch Lake in Bates Township and flows north through Ottawa National Forest to the Sturgeon River.
