White Bear 70 is an Indian reserve of the White Bear First Nations in Saskatchewan. [1] [4] It is about 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) north of Carlyle, is adjacent to Moose Mountain Provincial Park, and surrounds White Bear (Carlyle) Lake. It encompasses a total of 12,038.4 ha (29,748 acres).
The Nation bears the name of its Chief Wahpiimusqua (1815-1900, wâpimaskwa, "white bear"), who signed an adhesion to Treaty 4 in 1875. Despite this, he ultimately settled next to Moose Mountain Provincial Park with his band, which is in the Treaty 2 area.
White Bear is an unincorporated community in the Rural Municipality of Lacadena No. 228, Saskatchewan, Canada. Listed as a designated place by Statistics Canada, the hamlet had a population of 15 in the Canada 2006 Census.
