Alexandru Ciorbă (born December 30, 1968), better by his stage name Sandu Ciorbă, is a Romanian singer-songwriter known for his work in the "manele" musical genre (Romanian folkloric music with a modern twist).
In 1999, he started to experiment with manele, a composite Balkanic musical style, and in 2000 he collaborated with acclaimed manele singer Adrian Minune on Of, viața mea ("Oh, my life"), [1] one of the first mainstream successes of the genre in Romania.
