The Sheridan Inn is a historic hotel in Sheridan, Wyoming. Designed by the architect Thomas R. Kimball of Omaha, Nebraska in 1893, it was constructed by the Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy Railroad [ 3 ] as part of its development program in Wyoming associated with extension of the railway. [ 4 ]
Wingate opened its first hotel in July 1996. Since then, over 100 new Wingate by Wyndhams have been opened. Wingate by Wyndham is a part of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, formerly part of Cendant. In late 2007, Wingate Inn officially changed its name to Wingate by Wyndham. As of December 31, 2023, it had 205 properties with 18,652 rooms. [1]
Sheridan is a city in the U.S. state of Wyoming and the county seat of Sheridan County. [4] The city is located halfway between Yellowstone Park and Mount Rushmore by U.S. Route 14 and 16 . It is the principal town of the Sheridan, Wyoming, Micropolitan Statistical Area which encompasses all of Sheridan County.
The spin-off of Wyndham's hotel business occurred on May 31, 2018, creating Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. In June 2024, the hotel chain has more than 9,200 hotels in over 95 countries, represented by 24 brands. [21] In October 2023, Choice Hotels announced a proposal to purchase all outstanding shares of Wyndham for $90 per share. [22]
