for anyone coming to all these years-old threads looking to fix this problem, what helped me is updating whatever version of java i'm using WITHOUT uninstalling the previous version that technic was recognizing, opening the technic launcher, navigating to launcher options and changing which version of java to use. from here i was able to change my ram from 1gb to 4gb perfectly fine.
Hi guys. So i've been having this problem on every single modpack on the technic launcher and i cant seem to find any solutions so please let me know if you've had a similar problem or any solutions.
I need more ram to run my modpack but i can only go to 1 GB of ram at max. I was just wondering if there was a way I could add more ram.
Take this, save as a .reg file, change the paths to the jre you have, run to add entries (assuming you are using a 64-bit version of Java) and that is what the launcher needs to 'validate' the installed Java version.
It loads the modpack, closes out of the technic launcher, and in about 5 seconds or so, the technic launcher window pops back up. Very strange, and I don't think it's a RAM allocation or performance issue, as with 8GB of allocated RAM, an i5 4570, and a GTX 1070, this shouldn't be an issue.
