On November 13, 1969, ten students were suspended from Texas State for protesting the Vietnam War. They became known as the "San Marcos 10." They appealed their expulsion through the normal school channels and then filed a lawsuit against the president of the university, the dean of students and the Texas State University system Board of Regents.
