The Date Formats global option changes the default date format for all maps or forms. However, the format of the existing date fields do not change; the default is only used for new maps or forms.
On the other hand, the MM/DD/YYYY format for the date is common in the US, Canada, Greenland, Philippines and several African countries , as an abbreviation of the way the date is pronounced: "September 10th, 2017". However, as there is also another pronunciation allowed this brings only confusion.
The problem I have with free-form entry for dates is along the lines of what Adrian mentions in his answer - the US typically does MM/DD/YYYY and other countries do DD/MM/YYYY - free-form entry makes it impossible to determine if 1/2/2010 is January 2nd or February 1st. –

Hello, I have dates formatted in a spreadsheet as MM/DD/YYYY and I need to remove the "/" to get the format MMDDYYYY. In some cases, I even have M/D/YYYY, where I will still need the format MM/DD/YYYY. I cannot do any validation because the information isn't human entered (it is a system date stamp). I hope there is an easy way.

I’am novice in this and have tried everything I found on this forum. Can someone help me in rewriting the code below so that it works ?
